This Georgian property in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire features a full set of original 6-over-6 timber sashes, with the slim glazing bars and balanced proportions typical of the period. After more than a century in service, the frames showed localised decay and the sashes had grown sluggish on tired cords.
We carried out full sash window restoration: frame repair with new timber scarfed into the decayed sections, a complete overhaul of sash cords and pulleys to rebalance the windows, brush-seal draught-proofing routed into the frames and meeting rails, and spray-applied redecoration for a durable, factory-grade finish — keeping the period character of the building intact.
