On this page, we will walk you through all steps of the customer journey during the window restoration process.
In terms of permissions, for most restoration work this is straightforward and none are required. However, there are some more complexities involved if you decide to do double glazing on a Grade 2 listed property, as this will involve obtaining permission from local authorities and ordering custom glass units.

Project schedule
03.1
Starting date
Usually, we have a 6-month waiting list, but very often we have suitable gaps between existing work due to postponements of certain projects.
If an opportunity to do your project earlier arises, we will inform you and there is a good chance we can complete work much sooner than the initially outlined start date in the quote.
03.2
Double glazing permission for Grade 2 listed projects
If you would like us to instal Ultra-thin double glazing into your existing timber frame sash window, you will need to get approval from a local conservation officer.
Prior to starting the project
04.1
Double glazing glass order
4 weeks prior to the intended project start date, we will need to place the order with our double glazing manufacture.
At this stage, we will invoice you for the full cost of the glass that is required for your project.
The glass will be delivered to your project address if you have a space to store it before the project commences.
04.2
Prepayment
A few days before we start the work, we will ask for 30% prepayment, the remaining amount is payable after project completion
04.3
Portable toilet cabin
Unless the client has an outbuilding with a toilet that our staff can use, we order a portable toilet cabin (at no extra cost) to be delivered on the same day when we start the project.
04.4
Scaffolding
Our team works from ladders and our own access equipment such as towers but if scaffolding is required you will need to order scaffolding installation prior to the start of the project.
If it is a 2-3 store building, in most cases the scaffolding is not required.
During the project
05.1
Working days and hours
If your project is in an area where the work is only allowed during weekdays and certain hours, we will comply with those rules otherwise, if you are happy, we will work during the weekends as our work is weather dependent and we are trying to catch every sunny day of the year.
05.2
Project duration
Project duration very rarely goes outside the quoted timeline. Our business is not reliant on part-time labourers and all of our staff are well trained, so when we start a project, we make sure we have all the required resources available to complete the project on time and to our high-quality standards.
05.3
On side restoration
We carry out all repair and restoration work on-site with a mobile gazebo setup brought by the team. If we need to remove a window, or panes of glass as part of our double glazing retrofit service, window units are dealt with on-site and reinstalled on the same day, so your house will not be left without windows overnight.
